Murray Burt is Chief Engineer at Auckland Transport (AT), custodian of AT’s $22 billion transport asset portfolio, establishing design standards, monitoring compliance and overseeing asset management planning. Prior to this role, Murray was Global Head of Infrastructure for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Geneva, Switzerland, leading a team overseeing capital investment and operations for water supply, sanitation, roading, drainage and infrastructure for all UN refugee operations across 60 countries. Murray is a Chartered Professional Engineer in NZ (and the UK) with 25 years’ experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams in design, engineering and asset management. Murray has a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Auckland University, a Master of Science (Water & Environment) from Loughborough University in the UK and a Master of Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School.
