Alexis Cameron (Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Hāmoa) is a NZ registered physiotherapist who has worked at Toka Tumai (Auckland DHB) for 15+ years. Following a move into the People & Culture space, Alexis leads mahi centred on Māori experience across the employee lifecycle towards having a workforce and leadership reflective of the communities it serves and the aspirations of mana whenua. In addition to this, Alexis also has a strategic focus on building organisational capability to dismantle institutional racism, eliminate healthcare inequities and build culturally safe practice. Opportunities to improve systems and processes from a people and capability perspective that effectively upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi is a passion area for Alexis, particularly in the pursuit of achieving equitable outcomes for both Māori and Pasifika communities in health and education. Of utmost importance, Alexis is mum to three sons Elijah, Ephrem and Emmett who also keep her active.
