Building a secure and resilient Aotearoa in an era of AI, geopolitical uncertainty and digital dependence. Cyber security is no longer solely a technology challenge - it's a national resilience issue, a leadership responsibility, and an increasingly important part of how New Zealand protects its economy, communities, critical services and digital future.

The National Cyber Security Summit 2027 brings together government, cyber security leaders, technology practitioners, business leaders, researchers and critical infrastructure operators to examine cyber security through three interconnected lenses:

POLICY

What does New Zealand collectively need to do? National cyber resilience, regulation, privacy, critical infrastructure, international cooperation, and public-private responsibility and accountability.

PRACTICE

What should organisations actually be doing differently? Threat intelligence, incident response, identity, zero trust, AI security, cloud and data protection, operational technology, supply-chain risk and cyber recovery.

PEOPLE

How do we make security work in organisations full of humans? Leadership, security culture, behavioural science, cyber psychology, social engineering, workforce capability, crisis decision-making and the changing role of the CISO.
